So… it’s been nearly 5 months since updating my blog and I must admit I’m quite disappointed in myself because I started with great intentions but guess what..life just sometimes gets in the way!! But I’m now here writing this on my birthday (as punishment) in a lovely cafe, with good food on the hottest day of the year. So what have I been up to? Quite frankly, lots!! To start with one of my proudest achievements in my career so far I actually won my first permanent makeup award. How did I do that? Well it was a bit of a whirl wind really!

In May I got a phone call from the lovely Hilary at the Kent Health and Beauty awards to say I had received a nomination for  ‘Permanent makeup artist of the year’ award, I was so shocked, but very flattered to think that someone had taken time out of their day to nominate me, I mean how wonderful is that?

Once it all sank in I got to work writing my award entry, it was quite a mammoth task..there were many sections with explain in 500 words about..250 words about.. etc which did scare me at first but when you start writing about something you’re passionate about its surprising how the words just easily come out. My award entry was submitted and a week later I found out I had made the finals, I was so humbled and grateful to have got this far.

A few weeks later I attended an awards night with my family and best friends in tow and what a fabulous evening it was, a lovely 3 course meal, entertainment and I got to meet some of the other lovely award entrees and to finish off what had already been a memorable evening I won a silver and bronze award. It’s just such a lovely feeling when you work extremely hard and build a passionate business to be recognised and rewarded for it! There’s literally no other feeling like it!

On top of that, if you haven’t already seen, Ive now moved in to my own Unit down the famous and historical Chatham Dockyard. A move and opportunity that came completely out of the blue, but just felt like it was the next natural step for me and my blossoming business. I had been at Dreamz hair and beauty salon for the last year and a half and had a wonderful time with Kylie, Kay and their team. My new unit provides a more central location for all my medway and London based clientele, free parking and more flexible hours with space for other treatments calibrations to be carried out (watch this space). Ive loved every minute at Dreamz and still find a good excuse to pop in and see the girls even if its for nails, facial or a cheeky massage.

In other news, I have added to my already extensive ink range and now have a fantastic range for people looking for a stronger, longer lasting result. Often when people think ‘strong’ they don’t think ‘natural’ but you can still have a natural treatment with this strong ink range. Not sure if it will be right for you? Don’t worry we will be able to easily determine what ink range and colour will be best suited to you using my colour theory tools and expert colour through skin knowledge during your free consultation.

Lastly, shout out to all you eyeliner loving ladies out there, I have just booked a game changing eyeliner course for the end of September. This course promises to teach me amazing tricks of the trade in Latino, smokey and shaded eyeliner. Most people will probably only require one session rather than the standard two and the colours hold beautifully crisp, giving your eyes the perfect enhancement that you’ve always dreamed of. Upon my return, I will be offering a discount to a handful of people to build my portfolio quickly as this will soon to be the must have eyeliner treatment . Interested? Pop me a message to register your interest and find out the latest news and offers as soon as they are released.
